Question of : I have 2 toshiba tvs in 2 separate rooms why do they turn on together when only one is turned on?

The Televisions are separated by 2 walls and a staircase. The cables run to the attic where there is a splitter. For some reason in the middle of the night when my son turns his tv on with a remote it turns mine on.

Is there a way to solve this?

Well this might happen. The TVs might become on when remote control is turned on for power because when the TVs are in line of sight with remote control, those TVs will become “ON” and sometimes the “Turn on” signals get reflected from the hard objects and fond way to the path of the sensor,(Receivers) resulting to become the other TVs “ON”.

Hence, you can resolve your problem. Thus:

Shift away in the room either yours or your son’s TV where the remote control transmitting signal cannot access one of the TVS. You can do by hit and trial method and you will of course succeed.
