I guess you KNOW about … assumptions? I ordered and received a 22 inch Magnavox HD/Digital – mail-order (Fingerhut). I don’t have cable or satellite. I thought the the new TVs all build in antennas. Mine did NOT. I called Magnavox and they told me that my model requires an separate antenna! What gives? Thanks! The TV description is…22″ 720p LCD HDTV/DVD
Answer by Pearls Before SwineNew TVs do not come with a built-in antenna, and neither did old ones. But all TVs do include a place to connect an external antenna.
Antennas range in price from maybe $ 20 for a small indoor one, to several hundred for a professionally installed outdoor one.

P.S. Even though all over-the-air TV transmission is now digital and a lot of it is HD, you do not need a “digital” or “HD” antenna – those are just marketing labels applied to regular antennas that aren’t really different from ones not labeled as digital or HD.
